Product Care
Each Mutts & Hounds product needs to be washed and cared for differently therefore see below for our care recommendations. Please check your dog’s products regularly for any signs of damage. When a product begins to show signs of wear it should be removed from your dog.
Please note, the attached wash care label on the Heritage Tweed range is incorrect. As these products are 100% pure wool, we advise you to gently surface clean and air dry when required.
If you require further help or advice about caring for your Mutts & Hounds product please contact us.
Surface clean wherever possible. We recommend that waxed and quilted carriers are not machine washed to preserve water resistance. For all other carriers (excluding Willow Tweed), we recommend a 30 degree wash on a gentle, low spin wool cycle. Avoid using hot water, as it may cause the fabric to shrink or fade. Reshape and dry thoroughly in an airing cupboard or against a radiator. Do not tumble dry.

Remove cover and turn inside out. We recommend a 30 degree wash on a gentle, low spin wool cycle. Avoid using hot water, as it may cause the fabric to shrink or fade. Lay flat and dry naturally. Do not tumble dry. Iron on reverse. This information is for the pillow cover only. Please check the pillow inner label for washing instructions.
Cushion Beds
We recommend a 30 degree wash on a gentle, low spin wool cycle. Avoid using hot water, as it may cause the fabric to shrink or fade. Reshape and dry thoroughly in an airing cupboard or against a radiator. Do not tumble dry.
Dry brush any dried dirt from the product then use a damp cloth to wipe away any remaining dirt. Use detergent on a damp cloth to gently sponge away any marks on the fabric part of the collar only. Do not machine wash. To care for leather, avoid getting it wet wherever possible, tissue dry and allow to dry naturally (do not use a radiator or heat source). Leather will naturally soften and darken with use. To care for the hardware avoid getting wet wherever possible and dry thoroughly with tissue if any part does come into contact with mud or water. Over time, due to the vigorous nature in which the collars and leads are used, hardware can loose its silver colouring.
To keep leather in pristine condition, we recommend using a good quality leather protector or hide food before use to help maintain the natural properties of the leather. Please do not allow the leather to come into contact with chemicals from commercially available 'spot on' flea treatments as this could potentially cause damage. We recommend removing the collar whilst the treatment is in progress.
